Te Taiao O Tamki DLO

This is my DLO on Te Taiao O Tamaki. It is all my work related to Te Taiao O Tamaki in one presentation. In each presentation I have included a description so, you will understand what we learnt. I have enjoyed this terms topic.

Informed Opinion Reading activity

Javeylor, Mathias and myself were researching how bad pollution was in the 1800's. We then wrote our notes. After we had written our notes we took photos. We pasted the photos onto the drawing and made speech bubbles. In the speech bubbles we wrote our informed opinions in it.

Conserving water

This morning we started with inquiry. Recently Auckland was asked to conserve water. over 415 million litres of water was wasted. We had to find out why. We then had to make a DLO about Conservation in Auckland. We had to include why we need to conserve water, how we can do that and what are the consequences of wasting water. In my group there was AJ and Fraidoon

Water Cycle DLO

Group A has started to learn about the water cycle. The water cycle is a continues loop which never ends. It has four parts to it. In this DLO it includes all of the four steps. I think it is interesting how the water cycle works.I enjoyed learning about the water cycle and hope you have learnt something new.

Different Perspectives

For reading this morning my group had to read an article. The Article we read was Christchurch police told to remove 343 litres of alcohol tipped down the drain. After we had read the article we had to find the point of views from the police and the Christchurch city council as a group. Together as a group we came up with the point of views and managed to complete the task. 

Omaru River Inquiry DLO

Our topic this term is Te Taiao O Tamaki. Its not just our school that has this topic it is all the schools that are in the Manaiakalani cluster. Our task was to create a DLO about Omaru river. Eric and I worked together. There has been a sewage leak and Mad Ave volunteered to make the environment better. In this DLO there is a lot of negative and positive effects. 

NZ Estuary Food Web

Sylis and I worked on a DLO which was about an NZ Estuary Food Web. We learnt that learnt that everything is native except for White Faced Heron which is from Australia. We also found out that the Sun gives most of the energy to the plants which gives food to the animals.

Water Care with Sally

I have worked on this presentation with my buddy Eric. Sally talked to the student leaders about water. We did an outside activity and experiments. My favourite experiment was testing the energy drink and napisan, I learnt a lot of water, and now know how precious it is.
