This session for Hockey we were mainly learning how to control the ball more better. This session we only had Carly. The first thing we did for this session was have two games of Octopus. After that we learnt how to control the ball by keeping it near our feet so it doesn't end up rolling away. We also learnt how to defend the ball with our Hockey stick. We had to use the mountain side. After that we had a game of Shark, we put our skills to the test. We had to try and knock people's hockey ball out of the court. At the end we had a game of hockey. Carly would call out a number and the first people would go. Unfortunately we didn't get photos.

Yr7 Spelling
This is a DLO on Spelling that I have completed. Mrs Anderson had given us a task to complete. The task included completing syllables, choose five words and make them into interesting sentences, proofread a paragraph and fix the mistakes (I found this one most challenging) and copy and paste sign language symbols to make NZ platform names. After we had completed the tasks we could play a spelling game. Which is on the second slide and you can play it. Try and beat my best score 11,00 points.

Leadership Team Building
This is my DLO on Leadership I did with Sylis. Every Mondays the Yr8s have dance while the Yr7's have leadership. We are doing this to build trust with each other and next year we're going camp and we need to get along with each other. Mrs Anderson gives us really fun and exciting. I really enjoy doing leadership activities.

Storyboard That: Godwit
This is our last activity on Godwits for the Yr7's. Mrs Anderson found a fun website for an infographic. We had make an infographic on Godwits trip to Alaska. We had to include some facts aswell. It looks like it takes very little time, actually it takes a while putting objects to where you want it but, it was worth it because it was find making it.

Cybersmart
Mrs Ogilvie came to PBS to talk and, teach about Cybersmart. Mrs Ogilvie gave us a website that can be really handy in researching. Most of the Yr 8's and, some on the Yr 7's went to the library to learn about Cybersmart. The people the learnt about smart searching taught the people that didn't go and learn. I didn't go so my partner was Mia. We used a sight called Epic it leads us to two other websites which, are Kids infobits and Britannica. You can search up anything on there and there will most likely have your answer. These websites are really useful for researching.

Yr7 Collaborative Godwit/ Kuaka Poplet
This term our inquiry focus was on the Bartailed Godwit but in Maori it is known as the Kuaka. The Yr7's have created a popplet together that tells informations about the appearance, habitat, Migration diet and what effects Godwit/Kuaka in different ways. We also added in some images and videos to give a clear picture of the special bird. Did you know that they have a 8-9 day non stop flight, this adds up to one whole week and one day which is a short period of time considering they are flying long distance. We look foward to learn more about the unique birds.

Yr7 and Yr8 Run Jump Throw

This week for Run Jump Throw, we did jump. We first were learning how to jump far by swinging our arms forward Next we learnt what position we needed to be in. Andi said we should jump on one feet and land on two feet , being in the motorbike position. Next we got into groups and tried to come in first place. The people that came first in the groups had to go line up on the concrete for the finals. I made it to the finals. I don't know what place I came, but I think I came in 5th out of 8.

Kiwisport: Run, Jump, Throw
Yesterday afternoon Yr7 and 8 had Run Jump Throw. The Yr8s were lucky to have a Andy as their coach. Andy couldn't stay for too long so the Yr7s didn't get Andy to coach us. Luckily Mr Oglivie was the coach for the Yr7s and we got to do kiwisport. First we did our warm up, it was Octopus. Daniel was the winner. After that we focused on running. We had to focus where we want to run to and do check to check with our hands going up and down.

Get Wise Yr7
Yesterday LS2 Yr7 went to Get Wise in the theatre. Our teacher was Jeremy. When we were in the theatre we learnt how to save money, we learnt it is very important to save money. Jeremy taught us that you can take money out of your bank account with your eftpos card, he said we needed a pin number in order to get money from your bank account. The pin number has to be 4 numbers but, it needed to be a really good pin number and that only you know. Jeremy said if you do chores and you get money for it that's a bonus, if you do chores and you don't get money you're a champion. He said there are going to be crossroads in our life you either choose the easy path or the hard path, if you choose the easy path you will have a very boring life. If you choose the hard path it gives you challenges to succeed. Jeremy taught us many different ways to earn and save money. We learnt that if you save money and put it in your bank account you get interest (free money from the bank). We learnt a lot of stuff, Jeremy taught us that you have to spend some on you and save some too, we also learnt rush to your needs but wait for your wants. Those two sentences are really important that way you can save a lot of money.

Life Education Yr7
Today at Life Ed we were learning about how emotions can hurt people. First we had to think if your friend's mother died, we had to write down the emotions she or he would be feeling, then we had to write how we would be feeling. After that we played a game the first game was the clap game you have to clap your hands as many times as she says and do it at the same beat. After that we played a game called eyes down eyes up. When she says eyes down you have to look down, then when she says eyes up we have to look at someone, if you're looking at someone and they're looking at you, both of you are out. The last thing we did was watch a clip. After we had watched it we had to talk about how the main character might be feeling.

Orienteering Yr7
Today LS2 Yr 7 did Orienteering after lunch. I started with course 3. I really enjoyed doing it. At first when I was starting I forgot which direction to point the map at, I was probably coming last by far because I had only clipped one, but then the instructor helped me out. After that I started clipping my paper faster and I caught up to people and then I managed to beat a lot of people. When I was on my last course and last clip, I took long because I forgot where to point my map at because I was so concentrated on catching up to people, that I forgot which direction to point my map at. It took at least 5 minutes to clip my last one. At the end I was exhausted but I was happy that I finished.
