Winter Learning Journey

For this Winter Learning Journey activity I had to read about how people in New Zealand are trying to get rid of pests such as Possums. After I had read why they want to get rid of them, I had to write why I agree.
1. They are eating a kokako's (endangered NZ bird) eggs.
2. They carry deadly diseases that can spread easily, which could kill other things.
3. They are doing a lot of damage to our native trees.

  1. Hi Oh Hsen,
I would agree with you by getting rid of the New Zealand pests. They are a harm to our native birds and our native trees.

  2. Hi Oh Hsen
I definitely agree with you. Pests such as possums are (Like you said) endangering a native New Zealand work. Well done.

  3. Hello Oh Hsen, I agree with you one hundred percent. Pests can possibly make some of our native animals become extinct. Keep up the awesome work.

  4. Hi Oh Hsen,
I agree with you. I like you reasons, and the kokako is a beautiful bird so we need to find a way to stop this. Great Job!

  5. Hi Oh Hsen!

These are 3 really good points as to why we should make New Zealand pest free! Apparently possums eat 21,000 leaves a night. So over time, they would surely be killing off many trees!

  6. Hi Oh Hsen
Did you know that possums also eat the same food as the native birds, and that decreases their numbers because they starve
