Home Learning - Mary Seacole

This is my home learning. This week we had to research about Mary Seacole. I liked this weeks one because it was about a war. I really liked her quote. I did this so because I wanted to learn about Mary Seacole and find out what she has achieved. 

3 Strategy

This is my DLO on the three different strategy's for multiplication, I have learnt all three of them so far. I found find them very useful because they are very quick strategy's. My favourite one is the rounding and compensating, that is my favourite because I find it the fastest strategy to work out multiplication. 

Inferring from pictures

This is my presentation on inferring I had to infer from the pictures type what I think might be happening. I enjoyed doing this because it helps us with our reading and writing. The first one was an example. We had to do three but if we wanted to do more we could. I did this to infer from pictures. I learnt how to infer from pictures. 

China Follow up

This is my China follow I did with Sanujan, Abdurrahim and Zane. We first had to do the map challenge. My favourite part was the collage. I really liked that part because I got to learn new landmarks in China and find some interesting information. 

Language features and Structure

This is my presentation on Language features and structure. This is a presentation what language features and structure is. I did this because I wanted to learn the new language features and structure, it was also because we could find the different language features. 

Monsoon Flood

This is my Presentation on monsoon flood. My reading group read a book about monsoon flood. after we had read we had to make a presentation telling what to do when there is a monsoon flood. This is a warning and it's advice if you are in a monsoon you should follow these instruction.

This is my home learning presentation I did with Reon. We worked on it together, I enjoyed doing it my favourite doing this time was why am I well known? I did this because I wanted to learn more about Kate Sheppard.

Reading can do - current events

This is my current events DLO. I think this was interesting. I did this because I wanted to know what interesting is going on. 

Halving and Doubling Problem Solving

This is my DLO multiplication problem solving. I had to first learn the strategy. This strategy is a very efficient way to solve multiplication. I had to explain how to do the strategy and give some examples. I did this because I wanted to share my strategy.

Punctuation DLO

This is my DLO on punctuation. We first had to do it as a class together and find an partner, Mrs Anderson would have a sentence on the TV and we couldn't change the words, we could only change the punctuation. I had to write why it is important to use full stops and commas. After I had done that I had to write examples and tell the differences. I did this because I wanted to learn how to use punctuation correctly.

Punctuation Tweets

This is a slideshow that has Mrs Anderson tweeting, but she needs help because her punctuation is incorrect. I worked on it with John, Evelyn, Tiare and Gozan. We had to work together and correct her tweets. I enjoyed doing this because it helps us learn how to use punctuation properly and it shows why it is important to use punctuation.  

SPaG Punctuation

This is my DLO I did with John, Evelyn, Gozan and Tiare. First Mrs Anderson and Miss Donaldson showed some sentences on the TV and the spelling was incorrect. We had to do the task and correct it. When we finished we had to do the challenges.

6 hats activity

This is my DLO on Charlotte Anne. I worked with Cyrus. We had to watch a clip up to 2:05 minutes. Once we had done that we had to answer the 6 hats. I really liked doing it because I learnt a new skill I learnt how to synthesize. I really like it because I learnt about Charlotte Anne she is unique and I learnt about pioneers.

Shoe story

LI: To use the 5 senses and personification to help us paint a picture with words.

There I was running across the field, of course it’s not me it’s my owner. The ball looked pumped, I didn’t want to hit it but my owner forces me to. His gross toenails, pressing against my face. I was really hurt and exhausted so I decided to give my owner pins and needles by squeezing his foot. “Ouch!” squealed my owner. Minutes past and I could tell he was going to put his foot inside me again, I could smell his repugnant stench lowering down inside me. He quickly smashed his foot down, luckily I moved backwards, his foot smashed against the muddy grass. I then taste the sweat, raining into my pie hole. I tried so hard to not to breath, but the smell made me want to pass out, but who knows what his feet might do? I breathe out, I wasn’t ready and he’d already moved. My body was tingling, like I had been stung by a wasp, luckily the game had 1 minute to go. I thought to myself I could last one minute but when the game was over my owner’s team lost, all of a sudden he starts moving his dirty feet and stomps, he takes his feet out of me then throws me. Yay I said as I cheered, he was gone!

This is a writing I did with my partner Latham. We first had to do our plan. When we finished our plan we had sit back to back and take turns writing a sentence. We only had 15 minutes. Once we had finished we had to proof read it.

Home Learning - Anne Frank

This is my presentation on Anne Frank. I worked on it with AJ. Our topic was to research about Anne Frank.

Reading can do - word clines

This is my word clines reading can do. I had to choose a boring word and as it goes up the line it has to be more interesting. I did this to learn new words. I learnt synonyms for silly.

Inference game - reading

This is an inference game. it was our reading task. We had to make a guess on what or who it is. There are 15 questions. I enjoyed playing this game because I had to guess a lot and when you get it correct you feel happy.
