Maths Game

This is a maths game I have recently played. I had to order the decimals. It was really easy but the balloons go faster so you have less time to pop them I managed to get the highest score which was 740. I really enjoyed playing this maths game.

Writing - Comparative, Superlative

For writing this morning we were learning comparative and superlative words. We had list of words and on the other two sides we had to write the comparative and the superlative of the word. There were some trick questions like careful and bad. After we had finished that we had to choose one word from the comparative  and superlative section. I decided to do Angry, Angrier and Angriest. We then had to find images of the words we chose.

Tech

For this tech this week we mad kebab and potato salad. The ingredients were potatoes, tomatoes, salmon, Spring onion, egg and dressing. The people that helped me were Zahra, Sakae and Nazella. I really enjoyed doing making this at tech. I am looking forward to next weeks session, I wonder what we are going to make.

Eako Maths

For our maths activity today we had to play eako. The subject I was focusing on was multiplication and division. The first task was easy, I finished it in under 2 minutes. The second activity was little harder and it took a little longer for me to complete.

Omaru River Inquiry DLO

Our topic this term is Te Taiao O Tamaki. Its not just our school that has this topic it is all the schools that are in the Manaiakalani cluster. Our task was to create a DLO about Omaru river. Eric and I worked together. There has been a sewage leak and Mad Ave volunteered to make the environment better. In this DLO there is a lot of negative and positive effects. 

CARE Award, Excellence and Innovation: Research a New Zealander Showing Excellence and Innovation

For this activity I had to research a New Zealander who has showed Excellence and Innovation. I chose Sir Edmund Hillary. He has done a lot of great things. He has also faced some difficulties but still moved on. In the DLO I have written a lot of things about him. I think he was a great person and think he should be remembered.

I have created another motivational poster. This time it is on Abraham Lincoln. His quote means, if you do things carefully and slowly you'll get it right the first time, and don't to go back and redo things.

I have created another motivational poster . This time it is Nelson Mandela. This quote means that by learning in school you can prevent the world from bad things such as diseases. 

CARE Award, Excellence and Innovation, Read 3 Novels During a Term

I to read 3 novels during a term. The books I read were Geronimo Stilton Mice to the rescue, Billionaire Boy and Infinity ring. These books are one of my favourites. I enjoyed reading these books and recommend you to read it.

Food Tech

Today was the Yr 7 and 8's first tech session for the year. The whole of year 8's have food tech. The year 7's have 3D printing and Woodwork. Today we made Spaghetti inside baked bread. I had a lot of fun working with my team am looking forward to the next session. Next week we are making Kebab. I am in the vegetarian group so instead of chicken we are having salmon.

Getting a Certificate

This week for assembly I got a certificate for a great start to the year. My goal for this term is to get all my silver CARE award badges. I am excited for things that are going to happen in my year 8 journey this year.

NZ Estuary Food Web

Sylis and I worked on a DLO which was about an NZ Estuary Food Web. We learnt that learnt that everything is native except for White Faced Heron which is from Australia. We also found out that the Sun gives most of the energy to the plants which gives food to the animals.

Kiwisport Futsal

Futsal is the Kiwisport for our seniors this term. Our coach was Martin he taught us many thing including the differences between Soccer and Football. I am looking forward to next weeks session.

CARE Awards Inspirational Quotes

This is a poster of Mahatma Ghandhi's inspirational quote. I think Ghandi was a great man he was very inspirational as well. The message in the quote isto change the world if you want to.

Water Care with Sally

I have worked on this presentation with my buddy Eric. Sally talked to the student leaders about water. We did an outside activity and experiments. My favourite experiment was testing the energy drink and napisan, I learnt a lot of water, and now know how precious it is.

PBS Values DLO

For this activity We had to gather a group. We had define the meaning of our school values (CARE.) We worked collaboratively by sharing our ideas and wrote them on paper. We also took photos of us showing our CARE values. We all had fun doing this together as a team.
