The second activity for the first day of The Summer Learning Journey involves about how I would feel if I was in a waka filled with other people heading off to New Zealand, in a letter I would send to a friend.
Letter: Hi AJ, currently I am in a waka filled with a lot of people that I don't know. I am really scared because the people sitting next to me are acting pretty dodgy. I am also nervous because apparently we are going to a country named New Zealand. I am really worried about my health because I have not eaten or drank anything for the past two days.
Hi Oh Hsen,
ReplyDeleteRuby here from the Summer Learning Journey team! It's great to see that you've been working on these activities. Keep it up! :)
Good work with this letter. I like how you have talked about how nervous you would be. A lot of the original settlers would have been feeling the same way, I'm sure.
What an interesting thought that you were scared because of the people next to you. I think that when the original settlers first voyaged to New Zealand they would have known all the people in their waka so that wouldn't have been such a big problem for them.
Have you ever been in a boat before? I have been in a boat a few times but I always get really sea sick so it's never much fun.
I look forward to reading more of your blog over the summer.
Cheers,
Ruby.
Hello Oh Hsen
ReplyDeleteWell done on completing this summer learning journey activity. I like how you wrote a letter to one of your real life friends - it made your letter seem more realistic. Keep up the awesome work Oh Hsen!
