For the Summer Learning Journey there is a bonus round activity. The activity is to write a letter to a family member or friend about you going to the country you chose, here is my letter.
Dear Mum
I am going to Germany to learn about their language and hopefully I get to meet some of the Soccer players I want to. When I come back I will know how to speak some German and I will teach you. I am going to be gone for 4 weeks. I am going to miss so much.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Tania and I am a Manaiakalani Outreach Facilitator - I work in lots of different schools with teachers and learners who, like you, are using chromebooks for their learning and blogs to share their learning. I have been emailing with Rachel and she has told me all about The Summer Learning Journey. I thought I would check out some of the blogs and was AMAZED at how much you had already achieved. I like the letter that you have written to your Mum telling her the reasons you are heading off to Germany. I am sure you will plan to buy all the soccer t-shirts for your favourite clubs while you are there too. I wonder how much the t-shirts will cost you... Do you have a specific team that you follow? Who is your favourite player? Keep up the great learning and sharing about Berlin and Germany.

Great work on the letter you have written to your Mum, I am sure she will miss you too. Hopefully you can learn lots of German to teach her when you get back! Which football players would you want to meet the most do you think? Do you want to go to any games while you're there?
I think 4 weeks is a good length of time to visit for. That gives you plenty of time to explore Germany and learn about their culture :-) Apart from their football teams, is there anywhere else you would want to go whilst you're there?
