For this Summer Learning Journey activity I had to imagine if I got the chance to invite either 2 musicians or 2 bands to the WOMAD which stands for World of Music, Arts and Dance. I would invite The Beatles and and David Bowie. I chose the Beatles because they have been one of the best for a long time and David Bowie because I think his songs are great.

ReplyDeleteInteresting choices you've picked for the WOMAD festival. I especially like your choice of David Bowie - although he is no longer with us. I also think that his songs are great. My favourite song from him is "Heroes".

ReplyDeleteI think that you have selected two iconic performers/bands to join WOMAD. Sadly, neither of them would be able to attend this year's festival as David Bowie passed away last January and two of the original four members of The Beatles have also passed away (John Lennon and George Harrison).
I really wish that I could have seen Bowie perform live before he passed away. Many of my parent's friends talk about going to his concerts and being utterly blown away by this talent. It's sad that we missed out, isn't it?
Fortunately, what is not sad is that school is starting again soon. Yay! I hope that you're looking forward to getting back to PBS to see your friends and teachers. I will look forward to seeing you when I come in to hand out certificates and prizes.
